The 2025 Food Safety Consortium Conference is set to take place from October 19–21, 2025, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. The event will bring together food safety professionals, regulators, scientists, and industry leaders from around the world to discuss how to strengthen food safety systems through innovation, collaboration, and science-based solutions.

Hosted annually, the Food Safety Consortium is a premier gathering for those working to improve the quality, safety, and integrity of our global food supply. This year’s agenda includes workshops, expert panels, and focused tracks on microbiology, traceability, sanitation, and regulatory compliance. Key sessions will feature insights from the FDA, USDA, and other leading organizations, covering emerging issues such as genome sequencing, FSMA 204 implementation, and the evolving culture of food safety.

Why This Event Matters

Food safety is a shared responsibility that links public health, economic development, and sustainable trade. Conferences like the Food Safety Consortium are critical for uniting diverse voices around the same goal: building stronger, safer food systems that can meet the needs of a growing population. The event also provides a forum to explore how new technologies, data-driven practices, and cross-sector partnerships are reshaping how food safety is managed across the supply chain.

How Food Enterprise Solutions Relates

At Food Enterprise Solutions (FES), our mission is to strengthen food systems through market-based approaches that promote safety, nutrition, and enterprise growth. While FES will not be attending this year’s Consortium, the topics being discussed are closely aligned with our work.

Through programs such as Business Drivers for Food Safety (BD4FS) and the Food Safety and Defense (FSD) Platform, FES helps small- and medium-sized food enterprises adopt practical, profitable food safety practices. Our approach centers on the idea that safe food is good for both public health and business performance.

Events like the Food Safety Consortium reinforce this connection by highlighting how innovation and collaboration can reduce foodborne illness, enhance consumer trust, and create stronger markets for safe, high-quality food. The conversations taking place in Arlington will echo across the global food system, informing the very principles that guide our work at FES.

Looking Ahead

The 2025 Food Safety Consortium is a reminder that food safety is not only a regulatory requirement but also a driver of economic opportunity and community well-being. As new solutions and partnerships emerge from this event, FES remains committed to ensuring that these advancements reach entrepreneurs, small food businesses, and supply chain actors around the world.
